Parent Connect is an online service developed by the Greater Victoria School District to expedite consent requests. The service reduces the amount of paper forms and allows parents and school staff to review a student’s consent information on-demand. It allows for language translation, and easy authorization and authentication.
We send a pack up on paper to all families. If you prefer the following forms can be completed online:
- Google Worksapce for Education
- Permission for School Field Trips
- Permission for Neighbourhood Walkabouts
- Personal Information – School/District Media Consent
- Personal Information – School Yearbook and In-School Photo/Video Consent
- Volunteer Driver Information and Authorization (Adult)
- Student Acceptable Use of Technology
In addition to this start-of-the-year paper pack-up, a classroom teacher may add additional software that requires consent to be authorized digitally, or on paper.
School Cash Online is available for purchasing related to things at Central Middle School through the Parent Connect Portal.

Assessment History
Parents will be able to see the past history of assessment when the teacher is using the CSL tool for reporting.
Support to create a Parent Connect account
Parents must create an account in order to access Parent Connect. A parent must be listed as the child’s legal guardian, and they must provide several pieces of information to validate their account. Please view this brief video to learn more about creating a new account.
Consent for Online Digital Tools
BC’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) stipulates that informed consent must be granted before students can use online apps and services that store personal data outside of Canada. More information is available on this page.
Annual Consent Policy
In previous years consent was collected via paper forms, and the school district established a cut off date of September 30 for parents to renew their consent by returning the form. With Parent Connect parents will receive a notification each September reminding them to review their child’s consent status. Consent will now be considered to be ongoing unless it is revoked. This means students will continue to have access after Sept. 30 of the new school year. For students transitioning between Grades 8 and 9 consent will carry over from Parent to Student Connect. Students in Grade 9 will have automatic access to Student Connect, they do not need to create an account.
