SPECIAL FEATURE:

This week, for no particular reason, we’re featuring the instrument that has been described as sounding the most like the human voice:  the cello. It’s a really stinkin’ hard instrument to play, so if you’ve got any cello players in your class, be sure to give them a high five.  This morning we had some hipster cello players covering everybody’s all-time favourite song. Coming up later this week, we’ll feature cellos playing everything from classical music to Metallica.  And of course, lots of requests from the box in the library.

CULTURE & EVENTS:

Next up is Mr. Golder with important information about the ski trip!  Meet in the Foyer at Lunch.

ATHLETICS:

Volleyball:  Five teams have already played last week and all ten teams will be in action this week.  Our two Gr 6 teams will host tomorrow.

Boys 8 will travel to St-Andrew’s after school today. Practice at 12:00 for the team.

Girls 6/7 Rec have a practice today after school and the same for Grade 8 Girls.

Good luck everyone.

Girls grade 6 Volleyball practice today at lunch hour. This is a very short but important practice before our first jamboree tomorrow. If students are in Junior Jazz, then must briefly check in at the gym first, then proceed to their rehearsal.

REMINDERS:

Mr. Macintosh has some words of wisdom to share with us.

The Create-A-Book enrichment is looking for writers, poets, artists and photographers to submit their favourite masterpieces from this school year to the box in the office. Everything must be handed in by February 14 to be eligible to be included in the first ever Central Middle School book.
