SUMMARY:Reunification Drill
DESCRIPTION:On April 8th\, we will be holding our Reunification Drill\, for which ALL parents and/or an Authorized Guardian are encouraged to attend.  It will begin at 1pm.  \nImportant notes:   \n\nThere will be only ONE Entry Point (Check-in) and ONE Release Gate (Exit) to ensure that all students are accounted for.  Staff will be on site to direct you where to go.  Our primary Check-in entrance is on Fort Street\, and the backup if there is an issue (i.e. downed Hydro pole\, etc.) will be the Yates Street entrance.  If it is raining\, we will be releasing students from in the gym rather than the field.\n\n\nAdults participating in the drill must bring a form of picture identification. Have this out and ready if you can to speed up the process.  You will then be asked to sign and initial our release form to confirm who did the pick-up.  This is crucial so that if more than one guardian comes\, we will be able to tell them where the student went and with whom.\n\n\nWe hope to take less than one minute per person during Check in. Please remember that this is a new process for us as well\, and we will move as quickly as we can.  Your patience while in line is greatly appreciated.  Staying calm so that students stay calm is extremely helpful.\n\n\nWe will NOT be releasing students without an adult\, no matter their age\, because in a real emergency\, the path home may not be safe\, the family home may be destroyed\, injured people may be seen on the way home\, or other distressing things. Your child’s physical and emotional well-being are of the utmost importance to us\, and having an adult with them is crucial to ensuring this.\n\n\nThe Drill will end at 2:45pm. Any remaining students and parents may go home as usual at that time.\n\nWe thank you in advance for helping to make our emergency procedures more efficient and effective here at Central. SUMMARY:CC Day #3 - early dismissal 12:01pm
DESCRIPTION:Each middle school in the Greater Victoria School District has scheduled 1.4 Curriculum Completion Days during the 2018-19 school year.  These days are intended to provide additional time and opportunity for students with overdue assignments.  The focus is on the successful completion of learning outcomes for each term. \nAll students will be given a letter to take home outlining this CC day and whether they are required to attend.  We ask that Parents/Guardians read\, sign and return the letter.  It must be returned by Thursday April 25th.   Students who are not required to stay will be dismissed at 12:01pm unless Parents/Guardians indicate otherwise on the letter.  Please contact the school if you have any questions.
